Merryhills Summer Fete
Sunday 26 June….a scorching hot summer day, perfect weather for our fete. The only down side was England played Germany in the world cup and we all know the result. Some photos of the day….

Parents Association
The Parents’ Association exists to provide fund raising for Merryhills School. Each year the PA raises and donates approximately £25,000 to the school. This extra funding is used solely to benefit the education of children at Merryhills. It finances school trips, talks and workshops from visiting companies and equipment for the classroom and playground.
In 2003 it even aided the building of the new extension, and in 2006 the replacement of all the stage lighting. The conversion of the loft space for storage and the regeneration of the conservation area was all financed by the Parents Association.
The funds are raised in a variety of ways, hopefully providing fun events that give the families of Merryhills the opportunity to socialise in their school community.
Any parent joining the school automatically becomes part of the PA. It is up to you if you wish to be an active member and attend meetings and get involved. ALL are invited. We meet once a month after school hours for approximately an hour and a half to discuss ways in which we can help the school.
Each year with children moving on to secondary school, the PA loses members which means new blood and new ideas are really important in maintaining the level of fund raising. As parents of children at Merryhills we are very aware of the difference our efforts can make to our children’s education.
