Merryhills Primary School

Welcome

On behalf of all staff members I would like to welcome you to our website and to our school.  I hope you find our website helpful in discovering more about us.

At Merryhills, we aim to provide a foundation for life in a happy, high achieving school, where all individuals embody our school values and who can ‘make a difference’ to our local community and wider world.  Our children are encouraged to be inquisitive, confident learners who have a love of learning.  Staff work to ensure learning is engaging, purposeful, challenging and inclusive in a learning environment which is calm, stimulating and with good behaviour throughout.

We know that children learn best when they feel safe and secure; we believe that your child’s school life is enhanced when there is a shared responsibility between the school and parents for the child’s development as a learner. We hope to work in partnership with you and encourage your involvement in the life of the school.

Merryhills is a Values Based Education Hub school which promotes active, global citizenship. We have an energetic and enthusiastic school parliament which champions pupil voice and strives to provide a positive learning climate in the school.

We place a strong emphasis on the wider curriculum by: offering enriching opportunities throughout the children’s education, participation in arts projects and opportunities to take part in performances and sporting events.

We are a school to which our whole school community, children, staff, parents and governors are proud to belong. We are a proud member of Attigo Academy Trust and work alongside the others schools to enhance the education of all pupils. If you would like to arrange a visit to the school please contact us, our details are below.
